    8、 technology has always sought to simplify or lighten the load,which is what we mean at BambooHR when we say our mission is to set people free to do great work.Tech that incorporates good use of AI is a continuation of that goal.According to a recent SHRM report,the top areas where AI is being used t

    9、o support HR activities are in hiring and recruitment(64%),learning and development(43%),and performance management(25%).But as far as how AI can play into making your life easier today,its helpful to conceptualize the categories of AI as modes of transportation:a bike,a car,or a plane.We recently s

    10、hared a one-pager that goes into more detail,but Ill give a quick overview:Youve got your bikegeneral AI software like ChatGPT,Midjourney,or Office copilots.Then a carspecialized AI software for various roles,such as HR,sales,or support,from different software vendors.And then a planecustom AI solut

    11、ions built in-house.Jet fuel is expensive,and you need a pilots license,so the third category is going to be the rarest mode of transportation for most HR teams,but everyone in HR should have their drivers license.You should learn enough about AI that youre able to work with partners in choosing the

    12、 right technology that uses AI in productive and relevant ways.But bikes are even more affordable and approachable.Everyone can ride a bike off-the-shelf,so to speak.Similarly,everyone can start experimenting with AI and doing those really addressable things,like generating interview questions or jo

    13、b descriptions.Just remember:“Copilot,not autopilot.”You want to get into the mindset of working with AI as your copilot or thought partneryoure not just handing over the controls and going for a ride.Youre using it to brainstorm,research,and increase your productivity as you create content.These ar

    14、e the things that general AI tools can help you do today,which is especially helpful for smaller,single-person HR teams that dont have the resources a larger organization might have to buy or build specialized AI solutions.AI can be used to build a conversational interface,but were not at a point wh

    15、ere it has the emotional intelligence of a person to go in and understand context,nuanceall the things that go into human emotional needs.The prospect of AI fully automating HR processes is concerning.Can weor should weprevent AI from completely taking over a human person doing an HR job?Gen AI and
